Coming from Houston, the most frequent question
we’ve been asked is why, Atlanta, Texas. We figured that we
should let you know a little bit about us, what we are trying
to accomplish and why we chose to start our concept here with
you.
Who are we?
Dwayne, your chef, was born and raised in this area where his
family still resides. He left home as a young adult to find
his path and that path turned into a wonderful career in food
service and culinary arts. From the time he left home, his mission
of expanding his expertise in food and beverage has proven to
be successful and recently headed up multi-million dollar operations
for some of Texas’ largest corporations. His specialties are
in all areas of Food design, menu and operations. While his
direction in life moved him to San Antonio, Austin and Dallas,
the majority of the last 15 years have been in Houston, TX.
While living in Houston, Dwayne met his wife Andrea and they
have two beautiful children, Aria and Anson. Andrea is also
in food Service; she has a culinary education and worked mainly
in hotels. She also managed a multi-million dollar operation
of one of Houston’s largest hotels. Andrea specializes in organizing,
marketing and planning smaller events like weddings, banquets
and fundraisers to city wide events like the Superbowl. We bring
a background of food design, catering, planning and an excellence
of service and quality,
What we are trying to do?
We wanted to create something that was indicative of Texas,
so we asked people to define Texas cuisine. What we were told
most often was BarBQ. Although this is a large part of Texas,
it doesn’t begin to describe all the flavors and influences
that make up Texas. This great state pulls its flavors from
all over the nation but mostly from the surrounding areas. So
that is what we decided to do; we would fuse all the flavors
of Texas in one restaurant adding flavors from Louisiana, Arkansas,
Oklahoma, New Mexico, Mexico and the Gulf thus creating “Taste
Texas Fusion”. We are creating a restaurant where you can get
something spicy, something down home and something different
in our specials but all within a realm of familiarity; something
for everyday.
Why Atlanta?
Now, the question that leads us full circle…Why Atlanta? It’s
simple, because it is about family. Can you think of any better
place than home to start anew; where support and cooperation
are ways of life? We hope that we bring this town something
that you will enjoy with a new perspective on taste. Feel free
to give us your feedback because we are all about making you
happy. As a family, it’s our intention to become part of the
Atlanta family of restaurants and we hope you will become part
